We are experiencing a problem with a feature in event creation which auto selects the resource as you are typing the unique name/name etc if there is only 1 item in the list.

For example if I create a new event and click staff to add a member of staff. I start typing the unique name, 'a', if I pause briefly before pressing the next letter the list (in our case) refreshes and has a single item listed, this gets automatically selected, but I'm still typing.

I accept it's a feature of the application to auto select where 1 item is in a list but unless you have your wits about you, you can end up with more selected resources than you wanted.

Has anyone else noticed this behaviour? Does anyone else feel this is causing them a problem?

We had the same issue you need to download the service pack from the website and follow the instructions below.

a known issue and has been addressed in a service pack, available from http://www.celcat.com/support/service_packs.html. The one you'll need to download is the CTSubSystem63040p2 pack and will need to be ran on the machine where the Client is installed. The steps involved are:

1. Close down any CELCAT applications

2. Run the program you have downloaded - it will patch the existing libraries rather than installing new ones
After this, check to see that you cannot repeat the problem. Service packs that are applied against programs (such as Client) rather than the underlying libraries will identify themselves from Help | About, where the service pack number will be shown. This isn't possible with the underlying libraries, since there isn't a "Help | About" sort of functionality with them. The only way to check that it has correctly been applied (other than believing the patch program) is to check that the problem no longer manifests itself.

We are running 6.3.0.40 SP2 and are still having this problem, although it seems to be intermittent. I wonder whether it has something to do with typing speed (some users are more prone than others). The first item on the list seems to autselect sometimes. Can anyone help?

The problem was caused by the focus of the browse window. This was addressed in the service pack to prevent the focus from changing. Please contact support@celcat.com
