Hi,

I got a query the other day from someone wanting to know what rooms were available in our database, on a Friday afternoon from 2pm -5pm, weeks 1-11 in a lecture theatre greater than 100. I wrote a Crystal report, that unfortunately didn't work. I was wondering if anyone had a similar room checking report, that I could use.

I had to go down the usage chart for Friday in those weeks, looking for rooms that I had queried in crystal that had over 100 capacity. Not the best thing to do.

Thanks

Rick

Hi Rick,
Though your query had been posted quite a wile ago I think my answer may be of some help.

To answer such a quick query you could create a fake resource as "Search a room..." that you would use to ask the room advisor.

For example :
Open the timetable grid for your fake resource.
Create an event from 2Pm-5Pm on Friday weeks 1-11
Ask the room advisor for rooms over 100.

If you already installed version 6.3 you'll get all rooms available over the whole set of weeks or on some of those weeks only.

Regards
Christian

I agree
Create a 'dummy' event at the day / time / weeks required (you don't have to put in staff, students etc)
use the advisor to tell you which rooms are available
