Hi

I have just installed Celcat 6 on an XP box with SQL express

There is no Domain (that can be used) and Novell client is installed on some client systems. I followed the DCOM settings from the document: created a local account (member of Admins) set this to start CTT server (also added this as a local admin user on client machine). File & printer is installed,  Made sure System , everyone and Anonymous user is assigned as specified in Dcom settings

At present the firewall is switched off

I still get access denied when I try to register a server using admin program on the client machine

The only way I can successfully register a server is to: Create with an account on the server 9same account & password) as I login on client machine.

I thought Dcom was supposed to use the account that has been set to start the server?

What I have done wrong or misunderstood from the instructions?

Thanks

Have you followed the instructions for Novell from the installation guide? The reason why it works by the "Create with an account on the server same account & password) as I login on client machine." method is that it then uses simple authentication to autenticate between the client and server. As you cannot populate DCOM using the Novell accounts you have to enable to enable the guest account to allow the users to connect.
