We have a problem with clash checking where the auto clash-checking does not list incomplete events. In our options, we have No rooms allocated ticked in the incomplete events tab. When we create / amend an event, the auto clash check runs. This will not list checks for weeks where no room is allocated. We need to run the clash check manually before this will come up.

Is anyone else having this problem? Any suggestions or explanations?

This behaviour is by design, as only marked clashes are included in dynamic clash checking (those with a lightening bolt icon next to are dynamically checked) therefore 'No rooms allocated' for incomplete events with not be included.

Thank you for this information. I now understand a little better. Can you provide the reasoning behind the decision to design this way? It seems to me that if I want events clash checked in a certain way and I want them clash checked dynamically, I can't see a reason why I would want that clash check to not include all of the options I ticked.

There's a few reasons for doing this. One is to reduce the work load of the clash checker, the other reason is to stop the clash checker constantly showing for incomplete events. The drawback of having this done dynamically is that if you have for example a rooming department that wanted to create an event and leave the rooms blank it would not allow them to do so without the clash check constanlty appearing. If you feel that this would be benifical for you institution then please raise this as a feature request for our developement team
