When setting up CELCAT, every thing goes fine until trying to create the first timetable. We put in the name of the server in the "SQL Server:" field and a name for the timtable in the "Database name:" field, click OK then wait about one minute and this error comes back "SL Server does not exist or access denied".

In the "CELCAT Timetabler 6 Administrator" the SQL server is seen with a green tick on the icon. All components of CELCAT are installed on the same computer.

Can anyone shed some light on why we cannot create a timetable. This is our first install of this software.

Thanks.

If you are using SQL 2005 Express you may have an instance name setup as part of the installation. This would mean that the SQL Server would be servername\sqlexpress or whatever name you used for the instance

Thanks for the reply,

it would be nice if this was in the documentation. This has solved the issue, but the solution had no mentiopn in the documentation,

Nice to see the forum answered,

It would be good in the forum to have all posts listed not just the last 4 or 5.
