Is there a best practice way for clearing the web publisher log files when web publisher is running as a service?

Although the server has been restarted a couple of times this academic year, our log files for the service start in August 2007 and are obviously being constantly appended to.

The log file isn't huge (around 8MB) but I'm in the process of tidying things up for next academic year.

Thanks,

Chris Hodgson, Keele University

There is no way within CELCAT WebPublisher to clear the log files however if the file is removed then it will be re-created by WebPublisher. You could create a batch file to run within Scheduled tasks every month or whatever you decide, and set it to rename your webpublisher log file to webpublisher.old then when Web Publisher next runs it will create a new log file for you
