I am looking for some information on the Max Delta % field in the Notification Service - Event Changes.
I am unsure what to set this % at and how it determines the % of change in a Timetable anyway.

I am concerned if I set it to 100%, and someone  makes a simple change - such as an amendment to the name of a resource in the timetable, people will get notifications that they don’t really need.

If I set it to less than 100%, how does it calculate the % of change – and will I potentially be stopping a notification on something important.

Is anyone using the Notification Service and what have you set this % as?

Would appreciate any comment.

The default % is 25%. So i think it means that if 25% of the timetable or more changes it stops sending the notifications, because there are too many.

If you set the max delta to 100% it won't stop sending notifications until you have changed the entire timetable. So if you have changed 50% of the timetable notifications will still send for each change, which would be time consuming and probably slow down the email system.

Thanks Hollie.

Because of the way the Notification service is configured and because of number of timetable changes we make on a daily basis, we have had to switch this service off.  Teachers found the message content too confusing and too many messages being sent.

Hi Robyn

Yes, if there are many changes to the timetable the notification service can bombard staff. However, you can reduce the frequency of the messages, and remember that each message contains all significant changes made to an individual's timetable since the last message
