Hi all,

 

I've just setup the Notifier and its working really really well. It just emailed me however, as the administrator, with the message that the "connection closed gracefully"

I think that's a lovely message to get and there doesnt appear to be anything wrong so I just thought I would ask what this message meant?

Hi Elaine

The CELCAT Notification service communicates with your SMTP server for delivering email. I believe the error message indicates that at some point the connection was severed by the SMTP server, but everything "closed down gracefully" without losing data, leaving files open, etc. It's for information only and shouldn't happen very frequently. If it happens often then you may want to check with your IT team why the SMTP server is dropping the connection with the Ntification Service.
