We have a number of staff who timetable on CELCAT throughout College and we have a huge problem with accuracy.  This causes clashes of rooms, staff and courses.  As far as we can see the only way forward is to have an Elite Team of staff who do all the timetabling for college.

How do other establishments manage this issue?

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

We have 4 Admin staff who deal with Timetables/Registers and who also check the timetable/register data for problems/clashes student non attendances etc. we keep the clash detector on

We also have 5 Managers who deal with different Curriculum areas, these staff are restricted to timetabling within there Divisional areas ie only there rooms/Staff/Courses this stops people clashing (this is achieved through the administrator software)
