Hi,

I'm having some problems with the web publish as I am not able to install the service and when I try I get the above message.

I have gone into services.msc and the CTWebPub service just says "starting" and won't allow me to start, stop or pause (all greyed out). Even if I disable the service it remains as starting.

The same also applies to a CT Notification Service although there appears to also be another one that is running successfully.

I have tried rebooting the server but this makes no difference.

Any help very much appreciated.

Thanks

Elaine

Hi Elaine, I've run into the same problem with WebPub service.
I'll let you know if I solve it!

Ok, so if you check out the service, it's CT WebPub Service. Go into the properties, and the service name listed is CT6WebPubService.
(Assuming you've upgrade to v7.1.x)
Aha! So, we need to delete that service and reinstall
First, we make sure it's no longer starting (kill the process CTWebPubService.exe).
Secondly, we kill the service one of two ways:
either browse the registry to HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services and delete the key for CT WebPub Service
or
in a cmd prompt, type
sc delete CT6WebPubService

Then give it a min and you should be able to install the service.

Thanks very much. Spoke to Tech support and they said the same and so it's fixed although I did have to reboot the server to get the service to delete.

I also found I had a problem with the printer saying it was not installed when I started the automation service but I found the answer on a previous post - it needs to log in with the user name for which the default printer is installed.

Its now all working which is excellent.

Elaine
