Deleting Marks / Register Events

Hi,

Is there a way to delete previously marked registers?

We have a few registers on our system that have been enterred incorrectly and are causing clashes. I tried to delete the events on the client side and it wouldn't allow it, saying "Detail records of type 'Student Marks' exist for event...".

I logged into SAT, and it wouldn't let me delete attendance marks. I ended up having to remove all the students and I am left now with an empty register that I still cannot delete! I've tried deleting the event in the client side and it now says "Detail records of type 'Register Activities' exist for event...".

Basically, is there an easy way to remove marks from a register (it would let me change marks, but not remove them) and is there a way to completely delete a previously marked register from the system? I'm sure there must be a way, otherwise it's going to get very messy as the year goes on!

Duplicate attendance marks in Crystal Reports

Hello,

We are trying to write our own custom attendance reports using Crystal reports. We have hit a major problem that we just can’t solve.

Whenever an event as 2 lecturers against it, the mark entered is duplicated and appears for each lecturer on the event – even though the register has only been marked once.

Has anyone else come across this problem and how did you get round it?

Any help would be most appreciated.

Auto-optimisation of non-marked registers

I know that when 6.4 was first released I set up the option of when to auto-optimise non-marked registers after a set period of time. However, for the life of me I can not remember where this option is! Can anyone point me in the right direction as to where this is?

A very frequent comment from teaching staff using PDA's to administer electronic registers at Leicester college is why do we not have 'historical data' displayed for each student on the PDA. With the current SAT pocket software it is not possible for staff to view past attendance or punctuality for a student (as with a paper register system) except through reports. If the SAT pocket allowed historical data (i.e. attendance from week 1 to present) to be shown a poor 'pattern' of attendance or punctuality could be highlighted and discussed with the student during the lesson, rather than at a later date. Staff are of the opinion that if this issue can be dealt with in this way than the chances of improving attendance/punctuality are significantly greater.
Three other comments that consistently are made also relate to SAT pocket these are:
It would help if the class/group total was shown once the register had been marked, this would be a useful double check to see if the register had been marked appropriately.
Also at present the start time is shown on electronic registers, it would be helpful if the end time was also shown.
At present on are system a user has full access to SAT pocket and SAT client. From an administration point of view it would be better if user only had 'read only' rights to SAT client allowing them to print reports but not to change previously mark registers. Perhaps a check box could be used so this feature could be enable or disenabled by the system administrator.

Using name instead of Unique name in SAT Web

The following query can be used to change all users so they see the name instead of unique name for Staff and Students in SAT Web and Web Server. Please note that this also sets these options as an enforced preference
