AutoCal with hosted email

Hi,

I'm looking to see if anyone uses Celcat AutoCal with a hosted email service, like Live @ Edu. We are hoping to get all of our 1st year students onto this service next month, but I am not sure if this will work with the Live @ Edu accounts.

Many Thanks,

Room Booker - user access rights

Hi,

I find the access rights really confusing as I just can't get my head around them and so was hoping I might be able to get a quick answer here

I am trying to setup users for the room booker so that they only get the options to book certain rooms which I have defined as a "room booker" department.

I would prefer that no other rooms were displayed as an option to book.

Is that possible?

Thanks

Anyone using Exchange 2007 with AutoCAL?

Good morning

I asked this question a few months ago but didn't get any response. Hope you don't mind me trying again, but our Exchange administrators are still very nervous about the level of permissions needed in Exchange 2007 to run AutoCAL. I'd be grateful to hear from anyone with experience of this combination.

Many thanks

Event Change Notifications

Hi All,

Does anyone know if there is a way to change the default format of the Event Change Notification that is sent by email?

We would like to add the notes field to the default to give the viewer more details of the event that they booked.

Thanks,

Connection closed gracefully

Hi all,

I've just setup the Notifier and its working really really well. It just emailed me however, as the administrator, with the message that the "connection closed gracefully"

I think that's a lovely message to get and there doesnt appear to be anything wrong so I just thought I would ask what this message meant?

Thanks very much

Notification Service - Event Change - Max Delta%

I am looking for some information on the Max Delta % field in the Notification Service - Event Changes.

I am unsure what to set this % at and how it determines the % of change in a Timetable anyway.

I am concerned if I set it to 100%, and someone makes a simple change - such as an amendment to the name of a resource in the timetable, people will get notifications that they don’t really need.

If I set it to less than 100%, how does it calculate the % of change – and will I potentially be stopping a notification on something important.

Is anyone using the Notification Service and what have you set this % as?

Would appreciate any comment.

Notifier and Room Convener

Hi,

I was wondering if it's possible for the Celcat Notifier to email a room convener (a staff member entered in the staff field on the Misc tab on a Room record) when an event is created/modified/deleted?

The College is looking into ways to control restricted space and I thought this might be a solution.

Thanks

Creating an AutoCAL service account in Exchange 2007

Extract from

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb310792.aspx

Q: I have a third-party messaging application that requires full access to each user's mailbox. With Exchange Server 5.5, we grant a special account the Service Account Admin permissions, and then tell the application to use this account. How can I achieve similar functionality in Exchange 2007?
A: Exchange 2007 security works differently from that of Exchange Server 5.5. In fact, Exchange 2007 does not use a site service account. Instead, all services start as the local computer account.
If your logon account is the Administrator account, a member of the root Domain Administrators, a member of the Enterprise Administrators groups, or a member of the Exchange Organization Administrators role, you are explicitly denied access to all mailboxes that are not your mailbox, even if you have full administrative rights over the Exchange system. All Exchange 2007 administrative tasks can be performed without having to grant an administrator sufficient rights to read other people's mail.

You can achieve the results that you want in the following ways, but do so only in accordance with your organization's security and privacy policies:

In the Exchange Management Shell, use the following command to allow access to all mailboxes on a given mailbox store:

Add-ADPermission -identity "mailbox database" -user "serviceaccount" -ExtendedRights Receive-As

In the Exchange Management Shell, use the following command to allow access to an individual mailbox:

Add-MailboxPermission -identity "user" -user "serviceaccount" -AccessRights FullAccess

CELCAT Addition to MS Link

In the Exchange Management Shell, use the following command to allow access to all mailboxes on a given mailbox store. Note: this command also allows inheritence for future accounts that are created:

Get-MailboxDatabase -server YourServername | add-adpermission -user YourAutocalService -accessRights GenericRead, GenericWrite -extendedrights Send-As, Receive-As -inheritanceType all

Create a Booking Request through the COM Library

Hello,

I was wondering whether it's possible to create a booking request using the COM API. Basically, I would like to reproduce the behaviour of the roombooker application, so that a user can fill in a request to book a room, and then this request would appear to the administrator (through the celcat client).

Thanks for your help !
